How the self-check works
Product stage
Prototype, private beta or production. The stage changes how urgent the recommendations are, not what they say.
16 questions in 8 topics
Repository, builds and releases, access and roles, secrets and backups, tests, operations, dependencies and integrations, launch readiness.
Rule-based result
Every answer becomes an item with a basis and an action. The rules are the same for everyone and are described below.
Yes — I have checked it
- High impact: other users’ data, role isolation, secrets, restore
- Confirmed by you (self-reported)
- Other questions
- Confirmed by you (self-reported)
Partly
- High impact: other users’ data, role isolation, secrets, restore
- Check before production
- Other questions
- Development plan
No
- High impact: other users’ data, role isolation, secrets, restore
- Check before production
- Other questions
- Development plan
I don’t know
- High impact: other users’ data, role isolation, secrets, restore
- Check before production
- Other questions
- Development plan
“Partly” in a high-impact area counts the same as “No”: where the unchecked part ends is unknown. “I don’t know” isn’t a mistake but an honest answer: the recommendation then starts with “first find out” and continues with what to do.
- Live in production — high-impact items are marked “check this first”.
- Private beta — “check before widening access”.
- Prototype — “check before going live and before real data arrives”.
There is deliberately no score out of 100: a number built from self-reported answers would look more precise than it is. Instead you get an overview by topic: “needs checking”, “unknown”, “for the development plan”, “confirmed by you”.
Who it is for
- Founders who built an MVP with AI assistants, no-code tools or freelancers and want to know whether it is ready for real users.
- Product owners before changing vendors, talking to investors or opening a beta.
- Small teams without a CTO — as a shared list of things to agree on.
What the self-check does not prove
- A “Yes” is your own assessment, not an external review. Each such item lists the evidence that would confirm it.
- The tool does not read code or look for vulnerabilities. “Check before production” is a recommendation to check, not a vulnerability found.
- It is not a penetration test, a certification or a compliance check.
- The questions cover the basics. Product-specific risks — payments, health or financial data — need a separate review.
Privacy
- We never ask for passwords, keys, tokens, source code or users’ personal data. Don’t enter them anywhere on this page.
- The result is calculated in your browser. Answers never appear in the page address and are not sent to a server on their own.
- Your draft is stored only in this browser (localStorage); the “Reset” button deletes it.
- Analytics receives only the fact that the self-check was completed — no answers and no product stage.
- No email or phone number is needed for the result. The enquiry form below is optional.
- The result reaches us only if you send a request yourself and keep the “Attach the result” box ticked — the form shows exactly what will be sent. The summary holds the product stage, topic statuses and the items by priority with your answers.
