Custom Software Development
We design and build software around a specific company's processes: business systems, internal tools, backend and APIs, integrations. When off-the-shelf products don't fit the way you work — we build your own. Based in Almaty, working with companies across Kazakhstan.

When does a business need custom software?
Custom software makes sense when a company's processes no longer fit off-the-shelf products: records live in Excel and chats, ready-made CRM/ERP systems need more customization than a purpose-built system would cost, or several tools aren't connected to each other. InterLAB (Almaty, Kazakhstan) designs and builds such systems end to end: from process analysis to rollout and support. Budget reference: a turnkey product at 5–15 million ₸, complex systems from 10 million ₸ — the first phase can almost always be smaller thanks to staging.
Who it's for
Companies that outgrew Excel
Records in spreadsheets and messengers work up to the first ten employees. Beyond that, data gets lost, file versions clash, and numbers for the weekly meeting are assembled by hand. A purpose-built system closes this for good.
Businesses with a zoo of tools
CRM in one place, 1C in another, the website and warehouse on their own. Custom software ties them into one loop: data is entered once and appears everywhere it's needed.
Companies with non-standard processes
Off-the-shelf products force you to bend processes to the tool. If a process is your competitive advantage, it's smarter to build software around it — not the other way round.
Organizations running on legacy
The system is ten years old, its author left, there's no documentation — and the business depends on it. We untangle it, stabilize it, and replace it step by step without stopping operations.
What custom software solves
How do you know you need custom software rather than a boxed product?
The math is simple: the cost of customizing and subscribing to a boxed product over 2–3 years versus the cost of your own system. Plus the non-numeric factors — vendor lock-in and process constraints. We run this calculation honestly at the brief: if a ready-made product is enough for you, we'll say so.
How do you digitize processes without stopping the company?
Rollout is incremental: one process first, then the next. The new system runs in parallel with the old routine for a while, data is migrated with tested scripts, and staff switch module by module.
How does custom software coexist with 1C and other systems?
Through integrations: exchange with 1C, payment services, CRM, and messengers is designed as part of the architecture, not bolted on later. Your existing tools stay — the new system becomes the connecting layer.
Who maintains the software after launch?
Your choice: we take on support — monitoring, updates, roadmap work — or hand the system to your team with documentation, onboarding, and a transition support period.

Contract, payment and warranty
The same terms for every B2B project: payments are tied to accepted results, and a stage price does not change after it starts.
| Term | How we work |
|---|---|
| Payment for smaller projects | Projects up to 3 million ₸ and the MVP sprint: 50% upfront, 50% after acceptance |
| Payment for larger projects | ERP, CRM, SaaS, portals — in stages of 1–2 months: 30% before a stage, 70% after the stage is accepted and signed off |
| Stage price | Fixed before the start. New requirements are estimated separately and taken on only with your approval |
| Warranty | 6 months after acceptance: we fix defects in our code free of charge — whenever the system does not work as agreed |
| Not covered by the warranty | New features and changed requirements, as well as failures caused by changes in third-party systems (a 1C update, a new bank or service API) — that is support |
| Code and access | Owned by the client from the first commit: repository, servers and keys are on your accounts. NDA on your template or ours |
The terms are fixed in the contract before work begins.
How development works
- 01
Process analysis
We map how the company works today: where data is entered twice, where enquiries get lost, what depends on one specific person. Estimate after the brief.
- 02
Design
Architecture, data model, and interface prototypes. At this stage the future system is visible as a whole — changes are still cheap.
- 03
Development
Two-week sprints with a demo at the end of each. The first working modules appear early — you can try them and adjust.
- 04
Rollout
Data migration, staff training, and parallel operation with the old process until the switch is complete.
- 05
Support and growth
Monitoring, updates, and new modules by roadmap — or a handover to your team with documentation.

Describe the task in the form below — we reply within a business hour and suggest the next step: a call, a review or an estimate.
Architecture and technology
We build on a widespread, maintainable stack: TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, React. That's a deliberate choice against exotic technologies: the talent market is large, and the system never becomes hostage to a single vendor. Strict typing and code review keep quality up over the long run.
- TypeScript
- Node.js
- PostgreSQL
- React
- Next.js
- Redis
- Docker
- REST API
Integrations
A custom system rarely lives in a vacuum: accounting sits in 1C, payments go through the bank or Kaspi, communication happens in messengers. We design the exchanges so data is entered once and shows up in every system.
1C, Kaspi API, Payment gateways, WhatsApp, Telegram, AmoCRM, Bitrix24

FAQ
InterLAB's references: a turnkey product at 5–15 million ₸; complex systems with many roles and integrations from 10 million ₸. These are ranges, not a price list: after the brief we provide an estimate broken down by stage — you see what the cost consists of. On flexibility: the first phase can almost always be made smaller — start with the process where the losses are biggest, and roll out the rest by roadmap.
References: a turnkey product takes 2–4 months, complex multi-module systems — 4–8 months. The first working modules appear within a few sprints; the exact timeline follows from the scope and is set in the estimate. We work in two-week sprints with demos — progress stays visible throughout.
We cost both options at the brief. If your processes are standard and a boxed product covers them — we'll honestly recommend the box. Custom development pays off when customization costs more than your own system, or the process is your competitive edge.
TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, React — a mainstream stack with a large talent market. You're not locked to us: any team familiar with this stack can develop the system further using our documentation.
The client. The repository, servers, and domains are set up on your accounts; after launch you receive access, documentation, and instructions.
Uptime monitoring, dependency updates, backups, and roadmap work. The scope and format are fixed in a separate agreement after launch.
